Film intervention
In this project, I explored the physical manipulation of film as a medium. After discovering an unexposed portion of the film, I used a needle to engrave images directly onto the celluloid, turning a technical mistake into an opportunity for creative intervention. This process allowed me to engage with the materiality of film in a tactile way, transforming a blank space into a canvas for visual experimentation.
Paillettes (court-métrage, super 8, 2:40min, 24fps)
My first formal film project in Super 8 format, Paillettes, was presented at the 5th Neuchâtel Super 8 Film Festival in Switzerland. Featuring Léonie Marion, the film delves into the ritual of makeup removal as a reflective act. It serves as a metaphorical space for exploring vulnerability, memory, and self-introspection, revealing the layers we peel away to confront our authentic selves. The intimate nature of Super 8 film adds to the nostalgic and personal tone of the narrative.
